Travel blog entry: wanderlostrotes
"We have plans to meet up with our friend Paul (Depo) who lives in China. And is the only person who knew about this aspect of the world and one of the only appointments we have to wait in book history. He will meet us in the hotel but did not arrive until a bit later.
It is too early as we walk around the streets look. We find a small store selling travel many backpacker basics purchased before we left. We think John's shoes (although not in volume 13 of course!)
Across the street from the hotel is a small park where old men playing a chess game. There are also many cats roam. I see one perched on a fence, then soon realizes there are about 12 more just wander around in space.
Inside the Park is a beautiful portal devoted to Buddhist temple "Tin Hau (Goddess of the sea). We go inside and eyes water from smoke incense cones large whirlpool and outdoor burning hanging Space Center Temple. Buy some sticks of incense and says a few prayers to protect ourselves and our families and friends. A truly amazing and we feel very welcome.
After the temple is awaited Depo, make our way down a few buildings away jade market. Large covered area with many vendors sell bracelets, jade carvings, pendants. Also for sale is an old teapots, beaded bracelets and perfume bottles plot area ...
We end up with an interview with DEPO and get some lunch. (We quickly realise it is very difficult to eat at a place that have at least list picture. thankfully most of them do.) Sit outside and ordered soy noodles fried, steamed veggies (Romaine lettuce) with garlic and freshly fried tofu. We drink hot water.
Then off to Mong Kok (one of the highest population densities in the world) for different markets, bird, flower, fish. We hop on a bus public transportation go mainstream we need. They are closed till bus-of course we go upstairs, sit in the front row. Not long before we are all laughing hysterically because of how scary out there. The driver was speeding down the road then denounced his brakes to inches to spare the bus in front of us.
Being so high, sitting right to resist the very warp your perspective, and we continue to receive ourselves every little thing.
The mid-term review to the Center and walk around.
All buildings have crazy multicolored lights. How fancy! We end up in "Star Ferry (15 minute shuttles back and forth across the waters between Central and Kowloon). Near exit gateway walked past Chinese Arts Centre and handicraft. Inside made wonderful carvings, tusks "woolly mammoth, Ivory Coast,, jade. My favorite is "" ivory ball "'' ''. I learn is carved from a solid piece of ivory, it consists of a number of concentric balls one another, each one carefully carved with style beautiful even can flow freely within others. These days is the number of balls that can be carved into the ball outside 47!
We eat Indian food in palaces chongking for dinner. A month ago at birthday party in Megan talked with DEPO and planned to do this. Now here we are, what we have said already doing!!! "
